Historic Restoration and Preservation
Bell Bird Control specializes in providing the proper care and attention to detail needed to perform work on Historic Buildings. Our technicians have extensive experience in minimizing the impact of our bird deterrent system on buildings.
We have worked closely with preservationists from GSA, New York City Landmarks Commission and many other organizations to institute guaranteed effective bird control measures without compromising the visual aesthetics of historic buildings.
We have learned significantly about the most aesthetic ways of providing bird control systems to historic buildings from work we have done and also from finding examples left by those not as skilled as us.
The common use of spikes is no longer appropriate on historic facades, as Bell Bird Control has developed new technology which ensures the desired results without compromising aesthetics.
Care is taken to hide or embed our color coated connective wiring to blend in with building features rather than stand out against them.
Bell Bird Control’s Aesthetic Grade of ExcludeNet™ was specifically designed for the restoration community. Made from 4 strand braided knotted and UV protected polyethylene, Bell’s available ExcludeNet™ is 33% thinner than the industry standard for less visual impact against building surfaces.
We highly recommend implementing a bird deterrent system as part of restoration work on historic buildings. It is during that period that a building can benefit most from the investment of bird control. Rather than expending to clean and re-clean, a bird deterrent system can save money in the long run.
Representatives from Bell Bird Control have presented at the semi-annual Traditional Buildings conventions around the country. We use those engagements as an opportunity to gain further understanding as to the needs of preservationists and restoration architects.
