Deterring gulls from roosting and flocking around buildings has become common practice for Bell Bird Control. We have learned to adapt our methodology for bird deterrence to meet this challenge.
Gulls are a common problem on properties along shorelines of water and in suburban and urban environments alike. These territorial and vicious birds make it nearly impossible to perform maintenance work in areas where they are present. Their droppings pose a health risk to humans who come into contact with them.
Gull populations can cause significant damage to buildings. When left to settle on surfaces, the uric acid in gull droppings eats away at substrates and building materials. Gulls peck holes in rubber membrane rooftops to anchor their nests or in the process of eating food which has been dropped onto rooftops.
Gull Grid Systems are an effective bird deterrent used to protect flat rooftops and large open spaces from gulls and other soaring birds. By suspending a series of cables above the surface area in the form of a grid, we are able to create an uncomfortable landing zone for soaring birds, which teaches them to find new hangouts.

Constructed with stainless steel cables and hardware, these systems are designed and installed by Bell Bird Control technicians to allow for total access to rooftop equipment.
Our experience tells us the best way to ensure results with Grid Systems is to supplement these materials with our BellStrip™ electrical bird deterrent system on the rooftop perimeters.
