COLOR: BLACK

— The UV protectant mixed in to the polyethylene is charcoal grey in color. To make any color other than black, you reduce the UV inhibitor and reduce life expectancy.
— Black bird netting provides the longest lasting installation.
— 10 year warranty against UV degradation vs. 3 year for lighter colors.
— Black mesh, when stretched taut is less visible than any other color available.

HOW BIRD NETTING IS INSTALLED

Using stainless steel fasteners and anchors attached to the structure, the targeted area is framed out with stainless steel cabling. Cable is tensioned and the netting then stretched and attached to the cable creating a bird barrier. Netting should be well supported by cabling beneath larger panels.

Hardware is all selected case by case to be engineered job specific. Everything should be stainless steel or, at the very least, galvanized: the cable, turnbuckles, hog-rings, screw-eyes, anchor bolts, knock-on clips, ferrules.

OUR THOUGHTS ON BIRD NETTING

Netting is a great tool to keep birds from accessing perches, roosts, equipment, voids, etc.

Making a netting system work in the field; on rooftops, from boom lifts and scaffolding, on construction sites, in the streets of major cities, and neighborhoods of suburban commercial businesses and public works projects is a lot harder than it sounds just reading about the construction of netting system components.

Bell has hundreds of long term successful netting systems still in place at clients’ facilities and facades.

Our systems are built Better Engineered, Longer Lasting.

Electric Track Deterrent Systems

COLORS:

Black, Light Grey, Beige, Brick, Red

POWER OPTIONS:

— Solar - Great for open rooftops or wide streets.
Plug In - Uses a 120V outlet and run wire to it.

ELECTRIC DETERRENTS INSTALLATION

High/Low Voltage Track teaches birds not to land in the area. Lays flat to 1/14” so it is nearly invisible from below. Works on all species of target pest birds, Pigeons, Sparrows, Gulls, & Starlings. A pair of species specific strategically placed positive and ground wires delivers the jolt through the birds’ feet.

Electrical Deterrent Systems should be installed by a professional trained in construction methodology for installation of an electrical device. Systems are adhered to the surface substrates using suitable UV protected adhesives.

OUR THOUGHTS ON ELECTRIC TRACK SYSTEMS

Electric Track Systems are used for behavior modification, teaching birds not to land on buildings where it is installed. They are tremendously effective on all species of target pest birds and an integral part of most façade and rooftop bird control projects.

Long flat surfaces are better served by this discreet material rather than spikes or any other method.

Proper planning and engineering is essential to making these types of systems work, ensuring sufficient voltage is carried to all points on the system.

Bell has hundreds of long term successful electric track systems still in place at clients’ facilities and on facades.

Bird Wire Barriers

Bird Wire is a tensioned fine wire system set up over a surface to prevent pigeons from landing. There is a tiny spring to create an unstable feeling for a pigeon as he tries to land on the wire(s), causing the bird to fly away.

HOW BIRD WIRE IS INSTALLED:

Bird Wire is suspended from small stainless steel posts anchored to a surface most commonly using UV stabilized adhesives..

OUR THOUGHTS ON BIRD WIRE:

Bird Wire is a discreet barrier deterrent specifically targeting pigeons. Good for small spaces such as window sills, window, crowns, and decorative features of historic buildings.

Bird Spikes

Bird Spikes are used as a physical barrier to prevent pigeons from roosting on a particular surface. You may know them as Nixalite or Needle Strips. Stainless steel pins protruding upward from a UV polycarbonate or stainless steel base which is glued, strapped, or anchored to the surface.

HOW BIRD SPIKES ARE INSTALLED:

Bird Spikes are installed most commonly using UV stabilized adhesives suitable for most substrates. They can be strapped down to pipes or conduit.

OUR THOUGHTS ON BIRD SPIKES:

Bird Spikes are a safe choice when it is easy for the pest birds to move other perches. They can be an effective “fill-in” tool for small exposed spaces or for last resort situations. We try to minimize the usage of bird spikes in favor of other more discreet and successful methods.
